Daniel turns 40! For Daniel's 40th birthday we had a backyard house concert party. Jacob Lofland played and we ate crock pots full of chili and carrot bundt cake. Children jumped and ran and played in the sand box and we laughed and felt all the warm fuzzies that these special milestone birthday's bring us. 40 is special. 40 years is real and right in the thick of it, full of all of the amazing rewards and wonders of children and ideas coming to fruition and perspective that senses the truth and weight of our choices. It's also old enough to know real joy. And real loss. My husband is a lovely, strong and amazing person full of ideas and convictions and love, who tirelessly looks to improve himself and the things around him. I love him and delight in his every birthday. Thanks to Kate for taking some of these photos!
